Perched on a fallen branch at Lakenheath Fen, this Eurasian Nuthatch paused for a moment, tilting its head as if to study the unexpected visitor watching from behind the camera. These birds are known for their curious nature, often stopping briefly before quickly returning to their busy routines.
The close perspective captures the character and colour of the nuthatch, from its warm chest tones to the distinctive markings across its face. A fleeting encounter in the woods, frozen in time before the bird disappeared back into the trees.
