Perched quietly on a branch above the water at Trenance Boating Lake in Newquay, this beautiful female kingfisher waits patiently in the rain. The soft streaks of falling water add to the atmosphere, highlighting the calm focus these birds maintain while watching the surface below.
Despite the constant movement around the lake, with families, dogs, and cyclists passing by, she remained undisturbed, continuing her search for fish. For several months this kingfisher has been a regular presence here, offering moments like this where the wild quietly coexists alongside everyday life.
