Standing quietly in the shallow stream at Tehidy Woods, this grey heron waits patiently for the right moment. Tall and motionless, it watches the water below with complete focus, ready to strike the instant a fish moves within reach.
Spending time observing this bird revealed just how methodical their hunting can be. Step by step, it moved slowly through the water, studying every ripple and reflection. Watching the process unfold from the bank was fascinating, though I was certainly glad not to be standing in the cold water alongside it.
