Kingfisher - That's mine
A brief but revealing moment between a parent kingfisher and its demanding youngster. By this point the adult had already caught and delivered three fish, patiently feeding the young bird waiting nearby.
On the fourth catch, however, the parent clearly intended to keep the fish for itself. The plan did not last long. The moment it landed on the branch, the youngster was back beside it, calling and begging for another meal.
Scenes like this offer a glimpse into the relentless effort behind raising young birds. Even expert hunters like kingfishers rarely get a break when a hungry chick is nearby.
